പണ്ട് അവനായിരുന്നു എന്നോട് പ്രിയമേറെയും... ഏതു നേരവും എന്നെ ചുറ്റി പറ്റി നടക്കുമായിരുന്നു... ക്ലാസ്സിൽ ഇരിക്കുമ്പോൾ, യാത്ര ചെയുമ്പോൾ, പഠിക്കുമ്പോൾ, TV കാണുമ്പോൾ , വായിക്കുമ്പോൾ എന്തിനു പറയുന്നു ചിലനേരങ്ങളിൽ പരീക്ഷാ ഹാളിൽ പോലും... എപ്പോഴും എന്നോട് കൊഞ്ചിക്കൊണ്ടെ ഇരിക്കണം ചെക്കന്... അന്ന് ഞാൻ പറയുമായിരുന്നു ഒന്നു പോയി തരാമോ.. എന്തിനാ ഏതു നേരവും ഇങ്ങനെ കൊഞ്ചുന്നെ ഇതു മാത്രേ ചിന്തയുള്ളു ചെക്കന്... എന്നാലിപ്പോഴത്തെ അവസ്ഥ മാറി... എന്നെ ഒന്നു തിരിഞ്ഞുനോക്കിയിട്ട് ഇന്നേക്ക് മാസങ്ങ ളായി... അവനു തോന്നുമ്പോൾ വരും... പോകും. എന്തേലും ചോദിച്ചാൽ ഒന്നും പറയുകയുമില്ല... കാമുകന്റെതായ ഒരു ചേഷ്‌ടകളും ഇല്ല... തോന്നിയാൽ ഒന്നു അടുത്തിരിക്കും... ചിലപ്പോൾ പുതപ്പിനടിയിലൂടെ സ്നേഹം പകർന്നു അത് ഞാൻ ആസ്വദിക്കുന്നതിനു മുൻപേ കടന്നുകളയും. അവനോടുള്ള ഇഷ്ടം കൂടുംതോറും എനിക്കവൻ കിട്ടാക്കനിയായി മാറുകയാണ് ... എന്റെ പ്രണയമേ തിരികെ വരു... നമുക്ക് പ്രണയിക്കാം... പണ്ടത്തേതിലും അഗാധമായി... നീ സമ്മാനിക്കുന്ന ഓരോ ചുടുചുംബനങ്ങൾക്കും ഒരായിരം മധുരചുംബനങ്ങൾ നൽകാം ഞാൻ... നിന്റെ ഓരോ ചലനങ്ങൾക്കും സ്നേഹചലനങ്ങൾ ഞാൻ തിരികെ താരം... ഒന...

ബഷീറിൽ നിന്നുമാണ് വായന തുടങ്ങിയത്, എല്ലാരും കരുതുന്നുണ്ടാകും, പത്താം ക്ലാസ്സിലെ പാത്തുമ്മയുടെ ആടിനെ കുറിച്ചാണ് പറയുന്നതെന്ന്. പക്ഷെ അല്ലാട്ടോ, നാലാം ക്ലാസ്സിൽ വെച്ച് ബാല്യകാലസഖി വായിച്ചാണ് തുടങ്ങിയത്. ബഷീറിനെയെങ്ങാനും ആ സമയത് ഞാൻ കണ്ടിരുന്നേൽ, എന്റെ അമ്മയാണ് സത്യം കെട്ടിപിടിച്ച് ഒരുമ്മ കൊടുത്താനേ. അത്രക്ക് ഇഷ്ടായിരുന്നു, ഇപ്പോഴും. സാറാമ്മക്കെഴുതിയ പ്രേമലേഖനം പോലെ എനിക്കും ഒരെണ്ണം കിട്ടിയിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ എന്നൊക്കെ ഞാൻ ആലോചിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. ആ കാലത്ത് ഒരു വിശ്വാസം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു, കോൺവെന്റിൽ പഠിക്കുന്ന കുട്ടികളൊന്നും പ്രേമിക്കില്ല എന്ന്, പക്ഷെ അവിടത്തെ കന്യാസ്ത്രീകളെയും, വീട്ടുകാരെയും ഒക്കെ പറ്റിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് സ്കൂളിൽ ഒരു പ്രേമം പൊട്ടിമുളച്ചു, ഏഴാം ക്ലാസ്സിൽ പഠിക്കുന്ന ഒരു ചേട്ടനും ചേച്ചിയും, ചേച്ചി എന്റെ സ്കൂൾ ബസിലാണ് വരുന്നത്, ചേട്ടന്റെ വീട് അവിടെ അടുത്തായിരുന്നു, പുള്ളിക്കാരൻ സൈക്കിളിയിലാണ് സ്കൂളിലേക്ക് വന്നിരുന്നത്, ഈ ചേച്ചിയും ഞാനും നല്ല കൂട്ടായിരുന്നത്കൊണ്ടും, ഞങ്ങൾ ഒരുമിച്ചാണ് വണ്ടിയിൽ ഇരിക്കാറുള്ളത് എന്നതുകൊണ്ടും, ചെറിയ ക്ലാസ്സിലെ കുട്ടിയാകുമ്പോൾ പേടിപ്പിച്ച് നിർത്തിയാൽ ആരോടും പറയില്ല എന്ന...
